About Me

Joan Jones
Although I can spend whole days in my red, wooly bathrobe,(bet you didn't expect to see that on my blog, did you?) I also have some very active, busy days. My Bible-study buddies and my church family help keep me on track. Painting, which can take me to various locations in Santa Barbara county, digital photography, which consists primarily of grab shots, and slide-show productions keep my creative juices flowing. In addition, Dick and I take care of our nearly one-acre hillside lot here in God's country. (We can't dignify what we do as "gardening;" it's yardwork.) Neither Dick nor I, together or separately, has lived longer in a home than we have in the one we built in Vandenberg Village in 1985. It offers wonderful views of the village, of Lompoc, and of VAFB's SLC's from which missiles are launched. Hardly a day goes by that I don't drive into town, if not for any other reason, to attend a gym class or work out on the treadmill. I'm hooked on yoga and pilates and, because I'm a 'no-pain, no-gain' kinda person, I'll add ab-workouts to the above list.

Currently, I'm getting ready for two one-person ("one-man" is not PC) shows in S.B. County. In Sept., I'll be the featured artist hanging in the new Santa Maria library. Also, I was invited to show my work at Carina Cellars in Los Olivos in October & November, 2009.
